What is a Nurse Practitioner?
These are trained nurses who have completed degree level education and training to extend their nursing role to include, diagnosing and treating, including prescribing, for a wide range of common health conditions. They are also skilled in advanced care of long term health conditions, eg., diabetes, prevention of coronary heart disease and referring to hospitals and specialists.
